My Thoughts On Love

"If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal." 1 Corinthians 13:1

Love is one of the most over used words in the English language. We say we LOVE pizza, and our children. The truth of the matter is, love is a choice.
You can make a decision on whether you are loving toward someone or not.
We all know 1 Corinthians 13 as the "Love Chapter" of the Bible. We like to quote it at weddings and stuff.
It's a good read.
But I don't think we are actually DOING love the way God intended.
As Christians, Jesus told us to love each other, and by doing so, people would know that we are His followers. (John 15:12)
And yet, I see Christians being mean to each other all the time. Especially on social media.
When terrible things happen, like the Las Vegas shooting, why do we think it's a time to tear people down?
In 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Paul tells the church to build each other up.
WHY do we continue to disobey God's Word?
We love people for what they do for us, or what they have. We care when it's something that affects us.
As Christians, that's not how God wants us to live.
We are to be showing love in ALL things, in ALL places. Treating people with respect and dignity.
How else can we reach a dying world if we aren't loving each other and telling the non Christ followers that we love them too?
Love is a choice. You have to decided to love with your words, your thoughts, and even your facial expressions.
People are watching.
What are you showing them?
God bless you today and always.
