My Thoughts On Westboro Baptist Church

" If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer,[a] that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?" 1 John 4:20

This Scripture was part of my daily writing today. I will share verse 21 in a few minutes.
After writing it, I was immediately reminded of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas. They spew hate and that's it. Their website is even titled in hatred. http://www.godhatesfags.com/
This is from their site: "Since 1955, WBC has taken forth the precious from the vile, and so is as the mouth of God (Jer. 15:19). In 1991, WBC began conducting peaceful demonstrations opposing the fag lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth."
First of all, these are not peaceful people like their site says. Second of all, the Scripture I posted above totally blows their whole idea out of the water.
You CAN'T say, "I love God" and in the next breath say you hate a fellow believer. These people do not know if who they are hating are Christians or not.
The worst part about it is this particular church has given Christians a bad image to non-believers. Can I just say this...

We aren't all like them!

I don't hate anyone. Not even people who have personally harmed me. Hate is wrong.
God doesn't hate anyone either. John 3:16 CLEARLY states, “For this is how God LOVED the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
So, God loves everyone, and we should to. 1 John 4:21 says this, "And He has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers."
Christian means Christ Follower. If you are following Christ, you are called to love.
NOT ONCE in the Bible do we see Jesus yelling at people about how wrong they are.
I mean, heck, one time, they brought a woman "caught in the act of adultery" to Him. Therefore, we can imagine that she was naked, standing in the road, with Jesus and many other men who had picked up rocks to stone her.
Did Jesus yell at her at tell her how wrong she was? No. He told her he didn't condemn her, and she should go and sin no more. John 8: 10-11, "10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
People do not need Christians to tell them that they are living wrong. 9 times out of 10, they know they aren't doing right.
People need Christians to LOVE them, tell them that God LOVES them, and lead them into a life changing relationship with Him.
If you've been hurt by something a Christian as said to you, please accept my sincere apology.
You are loved by your Creator, and He wants to have a relationship with you. Please contact me if you'd like to accept Him into your life.
God bless you today and always!
