Your Social Media Posts Matter

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things." Philippians 4:8
Yesterday, social media was a frenzy over political stuff. I know that's what's in the news. I get it. But I saw post after post of people putting other people down.
This is not following through with how Christians are supposed to live. 
When we are fighting with others, or belittling someone, we are not thinking on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, or admirable.
It is not admirable to pick on someone. It doesn't matter if they are famous. 
We are taught to treat people the way we want to be treated.
So, if you made a mistake, or did something because someone told you to, and you didn't know any better, would you want the world picking on you about it?
We live in a fallen, sinful, terrible world. The last thing we need are Christians, professing, church going Christians posting stuff like I saw yesterday.
I realize that this is what's going on right now... an election, people being killed for no reason, people stealing from others, etc.
But if we constantly focus on that and keep it at the front of our minds, we will go crazy.
Non-Christians are watching what we post. If they see us putting someone down, being mean, or just down right being nasty, how are we witnessing for the Lord? Why would they want to give their heart to someone they can't see when the people they can see are acting like the world?
Take a few minutes today to think about something good for a change. Make a difference for someone today. Do something nice for someone else. 
We need more niceness in 2016!
