The Gospel With A Twist

"Because God's children are human beings - made of flesh and blood - the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying." Hebrews 2:14-15 NLT
I happened to read this the other day and thought it was a very new and different way of hearing the Gospel of Jesus.
Several verses after it are pretty interesting as well:
Hebrews 2: 16-18, "16 We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; He came to help the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, it was necessary for Him to be made in every respect like us, His brothers and sisters, so that He could be merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then He could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since He Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested."
You see, God placed humans on the earth to have a relationship with Him. But they sinned and disobeyed. So, He had to do something to redeem Himself back to humans.
He sent JesusGospel with a twist to defeat death and sin and to give us life to the full! God loves us so much, and all He wants us to have a relationship with us.
If you are already a Christian, being a Christ follower doesn't mean that life is perfect. It means that we have a Heavenly Father to see us through life. In my Christine Caine devotional, she said this, "The end goal of our life as Christ followers is to be conformed and transformed to His image and to live the life He has purposed for us not to use God to give us what we think we want or need."
Living for God doesn't mean that our lives will be perfect. We will still have bad things happen to us, but it's not God causing them. He is there to help us through the rough spots.
I got an old Sunday School book from my work. I like having something to study, a guideline, if you will. God knew I needed this message today! Here are a few things I highlighted that fit right along with what I'm talking about.
"The forgiveness of our Heavenly Father is based on His love, not on our merit, penitent spirit, or ability to "straighten out our lives." The good news given to us by God is that His forgiveness is based on His power, not on our abilities."
You see, God saves us through grace, not our works. Nothing we do can save us. We must accept God's free gift and live out what He's calling us to.
All we have to do is believe and accept.
If you aren't following Christ, will you today? He loves you and wants to adopt you into His family. I pray you will decide to let Him into your life. I am so thankful I did!
God bless you today and always.
