Your Thought Life Matters

Philippians 4: 8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things."
Bradley GannBradley Gann is a husband, father, published author, former military, airplane pilot, and president of his own company.
Bradley's talk was about our thoughts. I know that's a place that I have had the most battles. My inner voice or the enemy like to attack me and make me think wrong thoughts about myself.
He said, "We are the shepherd of our sheep thoughts. Every day, make a list of your most important thoughts. You don't have to live up to those things right now, but define yourself. What do you want to be?"
Bradley also said, "Right when you wake up, spend the first four minutes of the day with your most important thoughts."
This part was really important to me... "Our ideas grow into our actions, actions become habits, habits define us."
That's so true, isn't it? If you are constantly putting yourself down in your mind, and not believing the truth of who God says you are, then your actions and habits will show it. 
One last thing I wrote down too.. "Your actions will align with your goals."
So, let's say you want to lose weight. Your action steps need to be set in place with your goal in mind. Maybe you want to write a book. Same thing. Decide how many pages a day you want to write, set a goal and make it happen. 
Sometimes, sharing your goals with people helps keep you accountable. Just be sure to share with the right people. You don't want someone to harm you.
Changing your mind and becoming all that God created you to be is a process. It's not going to happen over night. Nothing usually happens that fast. I didn't get to the size that I am over night, so the weight isn't going to come off over night either. Ya know?

I enjoyed hearing from him and his wife. She spoke on a panel discussion about spouses of dreamers and builders. 
You know what else...that other Scripture comes to mind, "Take every thought captive." Be sure to do that. Realize that the negative thoughts aren't helpful.
