Who You Are In Christ

"But because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions - it is by grace you've been saved." Ephesians 2: 4 & 5

My Pastor started a new message series yesterday called #selfie. It was awesome! He said there are three filters that we tend to see ourselves through:

1.What others say about us  2. Our mistakes and failures.  3. Wounds

We allow what others say about us to stick to us and we live out of it. "You were an accident", "you aren't smart", "You were a mistake." That kind of junk.

We think that because we've messed up that God doesn't love us anymore. So, we just wallow in the negativity of our mistakes and failures feeling like we aren't good enough for anything or anyone.

Other people wound us and hurt us, to our core sometimes. Those wounds don't define you.

It's time to retrain your brain! They gave us a paper with many Scriptures of who we are in Christ. I'm going to share it with you. Look them up. Memorize them. Stop believing the lies about yourself and start believing God's truths!

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. Philippians 4:13

I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. Psalm 139:14

I AM GOD’S MASTERPIECE CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS. Ephesians 2:10

I AM A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST. 2 Corinthians 5:17
