Is God Trustworthy?

"The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul." Psalm 19:7a
IMG_2508I am sure there are people who struggle trusting God. Believing in someone you can't see is one thing, but trusting someone you can't see is a whole other story.
I have learned that trusting Him comes easy for me. I guess that's a blessing. I have had to learn lessons over the years. God is not like my earthly dad, or any man who has been in my life, for that matter. There are times when I have to look back to see Him at work, but I knew He was always there, walking through things with me.
Psalm 19 was written by David. Just in case you don't know his story.... David was a shepherd and the youngest male in his family. When King Saul stopped obeying God, God wanted him replaced. He sent a prophet to David's house so He could choose which son of Jesse He wanted to be King. They forgot David. He was out in the field. When he got there, God said, "That's him!" So, he was anointed as King.
Jealousy and rage took Saul over. He hated David over time and hunted him down to kill him. David was even married to one of Saul's daughters, and his son Jonathon was David's best friend.
Have you ever felt called or led to do something, then suddenly, literally, it's like all hell breaks lose and you start to question if you heard God right?
Well, that's probably just the enemy coming to distract you from what God called you to do.
Here are a few more verses in Psalm 19 that I find comforting.
7b "The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple."
8 "The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commandments of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living."
9 "Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair."
We can trust God with our lives because He is trustworthy. He loves us. He is our Heavenly Father. What Father would give bad things to his children?
Maybe your dad was never around. Or maybe he was for a time, and left. Maybe he was there physically, but not emotionally for you. These things happen. However, we can trust that our Heavenly Father will never stop loving us, will always do what's good for us, and will never leave us.
God's plan for our lives is to prosper us, not harm us. We can trust that He will lead us the right way with any decision we have. Follow His peace. That's how He will lead you.
God bless you today and always.
