How Is Your Foundation?

1 Corinthians 3: 10, "Because of God's grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have- Jesus Christ."

Is the foundation of your life built on Jesus or something else?

I know some people that particularly feel as if they are their own person, and they rule their own lives. This type of thinking can lead to miserable things.

If you place the foundation of your heart and soul in Jesus Christ, NOTHING can take that away from you.

Matt Ham's RICH principles start out with R, Recognize You are Broke (n).

Without Jesus, your foundation is broken. Without Him at the very center of your being, you are broken.

No human being on this planet can do for you what Jesus has.

Jesus died and rose again for our sins. He made the way for us to have a relationship with God that is intimate and personal. He took our debt and paid it all for us.

One of Matt's questions today in our devotional is this:

"What influences are you allowing in your life that might be compromising your foundation?"

Think about that for a minute.

Are you allowing things to take time from you so you aren't praying?

Are you listening to or watching things that aren't really honorable to God?

Are you talking about things that are harmful for you?

Are you putting things in your body that aren't good for you?

I'm not trying to be legalistic here. I'm just trying to point out that there are so many bad influences in the world that we simply get used to. We compromise our foundations sometimes without even realizing it.

Our society says that we have to be strong and our own person.

God wants us to be our Rock, our Foundation, our Strong Tower, our Shelter in time of need.

Will you let Him be that for you today?

Set your feet on the ONLY Rock Solid Foundation there is. Jesus Christ.
Then watch how your life changes.

God bless you today and always.
