How's life?

Life is a very unpredictable thing.

As Forrest Gump's Mama said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."

Isn't that true?

We try to plan and do things, and sometimes those things work out. Other times, they do not. Here is my take on it...

You've got to be ok either way.

Life is not easy. Being a Christian doesn't give us a "get out of trouble" free card. Actually, what my old boss used to say is, "The target on your back gets bigger."

See, we have an enemy. However, he is limited.

God, on the other hand, is not limited by anything. Even time.

Someone emailed me a few days ago and asked if Jesus loved him, why was there so much bad in the world and why had his ex wife cheated on him. I told him that we live in a fallen sinful world, with an enemy who wants to take us out. The key is to follow closely with God and let Him guide and heal you.

Jeremiah 29:11 states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

People get so caught up in thinking God is some rule maker, bully, meany head, that they don't realize He has their best interests at heart.
One of my favorite cakes, my Aunt's "white cake"

God does not want to harm you.

He has a plan for your life.

WE GET OFF TRACK!

Pastor Butch asked us in staff meeting yesterday if we felt sufficient in our relationship with God. He said we should, because with the Holy Spirit, we already have everything we need.

Why don't we realize this?

Life is never going to be perfect. But life can be great if you let it. Jesus said, in John 10:10, "The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Jesus didn't say He came to give you a bad life. Or a boring life. Or a painful life. He came to give us life to the full. Are you living to the full? Why or why not?
