God's Grace

This past Sunday our new children's Pastor taught a messaged he titled "Disarmed". It was really good and I want to share some of it with you.

Colossians 2: 13-15 says this, "You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross."

God's grace disarms all fear, judgment and condemnation.

When we become Christ followers, our lives change. God makes us alive in Christ. He doesn't keep a record of our wrongs.

Then, He disarms our enemy and condemns him. Verse 15 says that God publicly shamed the enemy by his victory on the cross. Condemnation means "to express complete disapproval of, especially in public."

See, the enemy knows that condemnation is for him. So, he tries to put it on us.

Have you ever had the thoughts, as a Christian, "I am a horrible Christian. I can't do anything right." "I am so bad, I do everything wrong." So on and so forth?

Well, my friend, that is the enemy attempting to condemn you.
God will NEVER do that.

The enemy wants to stunt your spiritual growth. He wants to keep your mind bound up, knowing that your spirit is set free.

We need to work on this. Stop listening to lies. Open God's Word and find the truth about who you are and Who's you are! All fear, judgment and condemnation must leave. It's not how God planned for us to live.

Put on God's armor everyday. Ephesians 6:11 says, " Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil."

He can't get your soul if you are a Christian, but he will try to cause you problems.

Live in and by grace. Extend it to others. EVERYONE needs grace!
