Are You Present?

I got a deal on Siris XM radio and added it back to my car recently. I heard that old Loverboy song the other day, "Everybody's working for the weekend." That's how a lot of people are. They complain on Monday, make it through Tuesday, rejoice in HUMP day, then celebrate that Thursday is the day before Friday. On Friday, people post all kinds of TGIF pictures on Facebook.

I think this is all silliness.

By focusing on the negative of each day and only working for the weekend, you aren't living for the day.

I will admit that I struggle with keeping my thoughts on the day. What I do is think WAY too far ahead... like in the future. I am not living in the moment sometimes like I should.

The Jesus Calling devotional said this today, "Your gravest danger is worrying about tomorrow. If you try to carry tomorrow's burdens today,  you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. You must discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you, helping you carry your burdens. Keep your focus on My presence in the present."

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus said, "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Is this a struggle for you?

Do you stay focused on problems or tomorrow's worries?

Stop that.

God is with you every step of the way. He wants to make your paths straight and help you through any situation.

There is a worship we sing at church. I love the lyric... "When I can not stand, I'll fall on You. Jesus You're my hope and stay." God is there if you feel like you are falling. Fall on Him.
It's a Matt Maher song... Here is a link for you to listen to it. Lord I Need You video

Live for today! Be present!
