Listen Oh Daughter!

My self esteem has been something I have struggled with for most of my life. I was not told that I was pretty or beautiful growing up. I think that is the most important time for a little girl to hear those words. It has taken me years to get to where I am today...but it's still a battle I fight off and on. (If you are a dad, please tell your daughter this, she really needs to hear it.)

This morning, I prayed and asked God to give me something to write. I want to do His will and relay the messages He wants me to.

Then, I opened my Bible and read this:

Psalm 46:11, "Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear: Forget your people and your father's house, the king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him for he is your lord."

In the context of the Scripture, I believe this was literally about an event that was taking place. But God spoke to my heart and I believe He wants to remind us women of how beautiful we are.

I believe GOD is ENTHRALLED by your beauty and He wants you to honor Him and let Him be your LORD.

Enthralled means to captive or charm.

God is captivated by your beauty.

You ARE beautiful.

God made your body, your hair, your eyes, your skin color, your ears, and your hair color and texture the way He wanted it. He specifically picked you out to be your parents child because something in their DNA needed to be in you so you could look like you do, have the talents, skills and abilities that you do, in order to honor and glorify Him with those things.

Ladies, this world is against us.

Models are stick figures. Photoshop doctors pictures to make women look "perfect". Pornography is fake. Romance movies and books are full of garbage. None of it is real.

You are real. And your creator is enthralled with your beauty.

Let that sink in your heart. It's the truth.
