The Battle of Faith

Today I read this sentence and it really hit a cord with me.
"Conquering the heart and mind are the front line of the battle of faith."

I've defined faith before. So, how can the heart and mind be on the front lines of it? Well, there is always a battle for your heart and mind going on.

God is trying to woo you to Him, while our enemy is trying to keep you away from God. Even if you are already a Christ follower, the enemy pulls out his bag of tricks which include: trying to keep you from praying, keeping you from reading your Bible,  convincing you that you do not need to attend church, stop you from hanging out with other believers, whispering lies in your ear, putting doubt in your heart, etc. etc.

The biggest way he can keep you from what is real is to fake you into believing you are doing right by keeping you busy with God stuff. Like serving in your church. Maybe you serve every week. And that's great. But it's consumed your time and you aren't praying like you should. Busyness is a great way to distract us and keep us from the depth of our relationship with God.

Peter warned us of satan's tricks in 1 Peter 5:8 that says, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

In John 10:10 Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

One way to fight back is what Paul talked about in 2 Corinthians 10:5, it says, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Take your thoughts captive. Is that thought something God would say? Because God doesn't condemn and cause shame.
Think about Godly things. If you don't know who are you in Christ, search the Scriptures. God tells us how we are His adopted children.
He loves us so much. All we have to do is believe it.
