Are you content?

Helen Keller who was blind wrote, "Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I may be in, therein to be content."

She was both deaf AND blind! That had to be hard... if she had of only been one or the either, she would have had an easier time communicating. Her parents found help for her, and a woman came to live with them who taught Helen sign language and helped her communicate.

This blossomed her into a writer and political activist. She was also a Christian, who didn't let her disabilities keep her from a relationship with God.

What are you letting get in the way of your relationship with God? If you are reading this, then you have your eye sight.

Paul, who wrote a lot of the New Testament in the Bible was beaten for his messages of Jesus. He was often in jail and wrote a lot of his letters from jail. Thankfully, I hope none of you have been treated this way simply because you've tried to tell people about Jesus' love for them.

When Paul wrote to the church in Philippians, in 4: 11 he said, "Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have."

Then, Paul wrote this to Timothy who was like his helper, "So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content." 1 Timothy 6:8

Bad things happen, it's a part of life. We can chose to be content or we can chose to let life drag us down. I chose to be content! How about you?
