James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the
Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
God gives us gifts all the time.
Sometimes we see them, other times we miss them. We are a gift giving culture. We give
things for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s day, graduations,
weddings, and especially Christmas.
We will shop til we drop, wheel and deal
and click our fingers to the bone online looking and planning something that
will knock our friends and families socks off.
Actually, the perfect gift cannot be
bought. There is no price on this gift.
The gift I speak of is T I M E!
In this fast paced world we live in, we
will tweet, text, or Facebook someone before we will actually call them.
We tend to want to be in touch, but not
personally.
Take some time to sit down face to face
with someone. Spend T I M E with
them.
Your time is so valuable. It is the one
thing you can not get back.
I know right now you are thinking of a
million reasons why you do not have time. In reality, you do. You are the
keeper of your own time. You have 24 hours in a day. Make the most out of every
opportunity!
That favorite TV show, yeah, you watched
it. The newest movie, sure, you sat through 2 and a half hours at the theater.
Because you wanted to. Make time for
people you care about the most.
Give the gift of your time and watch your
relationships grow and change. People enjoy feeling important. Putting your
phone down and having a conversation with
someone will do just that. Who do you need to spend time with?
Today’s
Challenge: Make a 5 minute phone call to someone
you haven’t talked to in a while, OR actually spend time with someone face to
face in the next two days.
