Stay In Your Lane

"11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. 12 Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others." 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
This past weekend, I went to visit family in North Georgia. We stopped in Atlanta on the way up and back to go shopping at specific places each time.
Can I just say I HATE Atlanta traffic?! It is so stressful.
There I am, little southwest Georgia, farm town county girl, in the big city of 6 lane traffic.
I've been there many times, but you just can never prepare for the traffic.
If you don't stay in your lane while driving through six lanes of traffic, you WILL wreck.
Period.
It's just best to be careful and stay in your lane.
Life is the same way. You can see the people passing you by. They are zooming through life and things are great for them. They've got great jobs, great spouses, and great kids.
You can also see the ones behind you, who seem to be slower than you, and things aren't moving as quickly for them.
THAT'S OK....All you should be doing is staying in your lane.
God has you where He has you for a reason. You need to be careful not to move into someone else's lane and try to do what they are doing.
You shouldn't be worried about those folks going slower and faster than you. That's their journey. You are on your's.
God has gifted you with specific gifts that He wants to use to bring Himself honor and glory. These are things that will bring people into relationship with Him.
At the right time, everything in your life will fall into place. In God's time.
Your value comes from God. He has gifted you and loves you so much. He just wants you to live for Him.... doing that and staying in your lane will really get you through each day.
Comparing ourselves to others only steals things from us. Stop comparing.
Stay in your lane.
God bless you today and always!
