You Are Royalty

"And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering." Romans 8:17
I have been watching the Netflix original series called "The Crown." It is about Queen Elizabeth II 's life in England. I find her life and the way their government is to be very interesting.
Last night, I began thinking about the fact that as Christians, we are royalty. The Scripture I posted above says we are heirs with Christ. I want to point out a few things.

  1. The Queen had no choice, but was born into a Royal family.
  2. She has people who do things for her constantly, even help her get dressed.
  3. She has had to be in authority over her husband, to a point.
  4. She was educated to be a Princess, but not educated in regular studies.
  5. They have many rules that must be kept.
  6. There is a certain order to everything.
Being born into the Royal family means you have a lot of weight on your shoulders. But they don't have a choice. Just being born comes with a high price tag. Not to mention, that Queen Elizabeth II would not even had to become Queen if her Uncle would have kept his position as King. Because he didn't, her dad became King, and that put her in line when he passed away.
God chooses us. We aren't born into the family. But I think it's more awesome to be chosen. And, I think it's cool that He considers us heirs with Christ. We are adopted into His royal family.
Our clothing is righteousness. Isaiah 61:10 says, "I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." (That's just one of the many Scriptures that refer to us being clothed in righteousness.)
While the Queen has diamonds, pearls, and fine clothing, our righteousness, strength and dignity clothe us from the Lord. How awesome is that?
We have rules, as Christians to live by. Namely, the 10 Commandments, and then the other things Jesus added in the New Testament. (Not to mention, the Commandments He one upp'd...) so that is similar to her Royal Highness.
God is a God of order, not disorder. 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us, "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God's holy people."
Just as the Royal English family has orders to the way they do things, God does as well.
We are Royalty as Christians because God is the Most High King. His rule and reign is over everything and everyone. Even Queen Elizabeth II.
Psalm 47:2 tells us that's who He is, "For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth."
How does it make you feel to know that you are Royalty? I like being the daughter of the Most High King!
God bless you today and always!
