A Note To Myself

"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." Proverbs 16:3
This might seem a little unusual, but I think someone else needs to read what I'm about to say to myself.

Dear Jill,
"No pity parties for you." (You HAVE to read that in the Soup Nazi's voice from Seinfield, it makes it better.)
You are your own worst enemy. Well, besides satan..and he enjoys messing with you. You are too weak sometimes in certain areas.
If you follow through with the Scripture you posted above, don't you think things will work out?
Not to mention the ones that tell you to "trust in the Lord", "lean not on your own understanding", and "offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him."
So, you've had 5 months of trying to lose weight and you've yo-yo'd. It happens. But it happens because you haven't been fully committed and stuck with a plan.
That's one of your character flaws, you don't always finish what you start. Well, this is something you need to finish. For yourself.
This isn't about trying to please anyone... honestly, it shouldn't be about pleasing you. It's about getting healthy and honoring God with the flesh He put you in.
BUT it's also about not getting distracted and allowing satan to play games with you.
Remember what you read in Christine Caine's devotional yesterday? Your life is all one big thing, and when you try to compartmentalize different areas instead of keeping them interconnected, it doesn't work.
She said, "God never intended for life to be a juggling act, nor for us to feel that if we nurture one aspect of our lives, it will be at the expense of another. The different aspect of our lives are not supposed to compete against each other because each is valid and necessary, and together, make us who we are. The essential key is that we place Christ in the center and then every aspect of our lives is held together by Him."
You trying to do things in your own power gets you NO WHERE fast. Not to mention, that you need to stop being so hard on yourself.
You are a daughter of the Most High King. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a masterpiece created for GOOD works. God has a plan for your life, and it's a great plan, not one to harm you.
It took you 42 years to finally realize that your value comes from God, so why do you let one set back or even 5 months of yo-yoing get you down? At least you are making some effort. You have lost some weight and inches. Maybe not enough, or not as much as you want, but dang, give yourself a little credit. OK? Because the main point is YOU DID NOT QUIT. And you could have.
Keep moving forward girl. God is with you. Your friends are with you. They are cheering you on and helping you through this season of life. As your friend Barbara says, "You've got this." And her husband Reggie so loving says, "You did good monkey." Then Darlene who is everyone's cheerleader, saying, "You're doing good Jill, keep going."
I love you and I like you. You are awesome.
God bless you today and always,
Jill
