Fear Factor

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
Fear Factor
Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorite Scriptures. It comforts me for God to tell me not to be afraid, that He will give me strength and He will hold me up. Because, honestly, life can knock you down sometimes, and who doesn't need a loving Father to pick you back up?
At Launch Out Conference, Cory Minter spoke about fear. Cory is the President of Trinity Employment Specialists. He started his company and has moved up in the business world quickly. You can find their Facebook page here: Trinity Employment Specialists
I have a ton of notes from Cory's talk, but I have highlighted what I think is the most helpful.
Here we go:
"Fear is the top reason why people don't reach their potential. 90% of the things we fear are insignificant. 60% of the things we fear don't happen.
Fear is not always a bad thing. Cavemen feared animals. Our subconscious mind is there to protect you.
[Tweet "Fear doesn't show up in parts of your life that don't matter."]
If you are experiencing fear, you are probably moving in the right direction.Cory Minter
3 Key reasons fear will strip you of confidence.
  1. Use fear as fuel. It will take you to the moon and protect your motivation.
  2. People fuel fear with their negative thoughts.
  3. People allow fear to paralyze them, and satan uses this. Satan uses when you are just slowly drifting. You have to be conscious in your thoughts and recognize it's there.
Manage your perspective or it will manage you.
Know the voice in your head and recognize that it's unreliable. Satan lies with the biggest most untruthful things. The truth is in the Word of God. Stop listening to lies, otherwise, the voice will change who you are.
Success and fear go together. They never leave each other. It's like they are neighbors and they borrow things from each other.
Our vision is limited, but our partner is God. He created everything and He will not let you fall.
Remember who your partner is because you are in good hands."
I experienced fear when I felt like God told me to write my book. I write on this blog almost daily. (I missed the last two days. I don't usually do that, I've been really busy.) And, I knew that God wanted me to pull together blog posts and create a book. Once I finally got it done, I got scared. I had my dad edit, then was afraid to read what he wrote. I allowed fear to stop me for months. God kept speaking to me though, telling me to finish what I started. So I did. Now, the book is a very slow selling thing, but that's ok. I did what He told me to and that's more important to me than anything.
What are you afraid of? What are you working on? Have you allowed fear to stop you in your tracks?
Take some time today and work through it. If you need prayer for anything, especially to push back fear, please contact me. I would be glad to pray for you.
God bless you today and always!
