Follow Peace

Psalm 23: 2-3 NIV, "He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake."

My Pastor continued his message yesterday on "The Good Life" based off of Psalm 23. It was a great message!

He said as a Pastor, people are always asking him how they can know God's will for their lives. He said we need to follow peace.

The Holy Spirit will warn you if something isn't right... but sometimes we miss that. We feel "uncomfortable" or "unsettled", and shrug it off. That is one way the Holy Spirit is trying to lead us.

When you have a decision to make, look for the peace in it. If you don't have peace, don't do it.

I think peace can also come from rest. We are all so exhausted. Josh said there are two types of exhaustion:

1. The type that a day off work and a good night's sleep will fix.

2. The type where your soul is worn out and you are emotionally empty.

If you are struggling with this, ask for God's help. It's my opinion that our soul gets worn out when we continue to try to handle our problems our way.

We are a worrying, stressed out society. We take matters into our own hands and try to handle them when we shouldn't.

Giving God our problems, like He said to, takes that burden off of us.

1 Peter 5:7 says to "Cast all of your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

Peter didn't say "SOME" or "A FEW" or  "A LITTLE BIT", he said, "ALL!"

It's hard to have peace when you are full of anxiety from trying to handle life's issues on your own.

Will you make the decision to follow God's peace in your life and give Him all of your burdens? I know that it will help you. It's helped me.

God bless you today and always.
