Yesterday, my Pastor taught a great message on holiness leading to happiness. We tend to think that we have to choose between holiness and happiness. That's not true.
Many people decide to just live however they want, because they think they want to be happy.. and give their life to God later. That's not how God wants us to live.
Jesus came to give us life to the fullest, like the Scripture above states. God wants us to be happy and enjoy life.
Sin leads to death and destruction. It steals our joy.
Sin separates us from God. We move. He doesn't. If we are living in a righteous way, then we will be happy.
Living our lives the way God intended for us to, leads to happiness. This means following the first church in Acts and how they lived. Acts 2: 42-46 tells us that they were meeting together in homes, eating together, selling their items to help others out, and growing in their faith.
That's all God wants from us. He wants us to let Him be our Lord and Savior, then He wants us to live righteously. Jesus loves righteousness and hates sin.
Are you still living a life without God because you are wanting to be "happy"? How's that working out for you?
True happiness, true JOY comes from God. It's one of the fruits of the Spirit.
I hope and pray that you will give your life to God today. Tell Him that you will let Him lead your life and stop doing everything on your own.
I have been a witness to people's lives and how things change for them when they do this. Putting God first is the key to happiness.
