Being United

"Above all, put on love - the perfect bond of unity." Colossians 3:14 HCSB

In Genesis chapter 11 of the Old Testament, the people decided to build a tower for their own glory. It wasn't a temple or a shrine to God. They were being disobedient by trying to build something to worship other than God. God realized in verse 6 that with them all working together, nothing would be impossible for them.

We need to realize this truth of unity today. Our world is falling apart at the seams and while it seems huge, if we unify as Christians, we can do a lot!

In the Kendrick's book, "The Battle Plan for Prayer", they talk about this very topic. Unity among people who worship and obey the God of the universe are a force to be wreckoned with. "That's why the enemy does everything possible to keep God's people divided."

"God's blessings fall when believers dwell together in unity. God moves when we rid our hearts of any sin that holds us back and seek His face together."

That statement reminds me of the Scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV where God says, "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

We need to band together as brothers and sisters in Christ and pray for this world. Christians are being killed by Muslims every day. People are taken into sex slavery, every day. It's bad.

There is a catch here. Even though these people who do this horrible stuff are bad, we can't hate them. We need to see them as lost. Because that's what they are. God is love and we are to love because of our relationship with Him. 1 John 4: 20-21 talks about how we can't hate someone and love God at the same time. When we don't forgive people, God can't forgive us.

Let's start praying in unity. It's a powerful weapon against our enemy.

In Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV, God says, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things."

God hears our prayers. He wants us to draw close to Him, and then He will draw close to us. Let's band together in prayer for our world. It is very needed! I'm willing to be united with you. Are you willing?

God bless you today and always.
