He Is Alive! Are you?

It's Sunday!

That means A. You made it through the night.
                  B. It's Easter Sunday.

Easter is special because it is the day we celebrate Jesus' resurrection.

His miracles of raising people from the grave was different, no one had ever done that before.

I realize, from a logical point of view, that this whole thing sounds somewhat ridiculous. It can also be very hard to believe.

After all, it was over 2,000 years ago.

How are we supposed to believe this event really happened?

Because we read it in a book?

If that's the case, then we should be believing in vampires and humans who turn into werewolves, right?

Here is the difference....

Jesus came back and walked among the people. MANY people. These are eye witness accounts. They are documented in history. Written down, past down, and read from generation to generation.

Also, after He was here a while, He left earth floating on a cloud to Heaven. He told the people to wait, because He was sending a "comforter". This comforter is the Holy Spirit.

When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit comes into your life and you are never the same again.

I can tell you story after story of things that the Holy Spirit has done in my life.

That's all the proof I need.

In any relationship, you must spend time with the person, right? You've got to get to know them. It's the same way with God.

He wants you to pray to Him, which is simply talking to Him. (I write my prayers in a journal in the morning.) Then, He talks back to you.

Here are a couple of sentences from my Jesus Calling devotional today:
"My Spirit within you is more than sufficient to handle whatever this day may bring. That is the basis for your confidence! In quietness (spending time alone with Me) and confident trust (relying on My sufficiency) is your strength."

God wants to handle your every day life. Even the little things. Living for and with God, gives us life... eternal life and a meaningful life. Don't just go through the motions. Don't just go to church today and wait to go back at Christmas time. Try a real relationship with the Creator.

He loves you so very much. It's a gift. You don't have to jump through hoops, do any rituals or be perfect. You just have to open your heart and let Him in.

Will you do that today?
