How Bright Are You?

A couple of weeks ago, my Pastor talked about Jesus being the light of the world, and us being a light to the world because of Him.

Last Wednesday, Mrs. Laurel mentioned something similar.

The first thing God created was light, the sun.

However, Jesus was there when He did. Jesus IS the Light too. In the book of John, it's spiritual light that's being referenced.

John 1:1 & 2 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning."

The "Word" mentioned here, is Jesus. The Bible, which is God's Word, is living and breathing because God breathed on it. That's why when you are reading it you can experience something really touching your heart.

Jesus came to push back the darkness of this sinful world.

Therefore, if He is in us, we are can push back the darkness too!

The more we walk in the life of Christ, the more we walk in light and the more light we have to share.

Because the world is so dark, it's a great idea to spend time with people who have a lot of light. We need each other.

We even go through seasons in life where, as Christians, it's dark. In that case, hang out with your friends who are brighter. They are there to help you through the dark time and shine some light for you.

So, how bright are you?

Are you shining Jesus' light for the world to see? Are you helping someone through a dark time? If so, keep shining! Be bright!
