Who Is Important to You?

As you all know, my birthday was Thursday this past week. It was pretty cool. I had lunch with my adopted daughter and grand baby, then supper with my parents and kids.

My best friend does not like to drive at night...but earlier in the week she asked about eating supper on Saturday night. I knew I would have a busy weekend, but I wanted to hang out with her, so we planned it.

I have been working because my Worship Pastor boss has a Christmas program tonight. So, I have been picking up and setting up food for the choir and band.

Now, I am helping with the program and ended up staying later than I thought I would. I was texting my friend giving her a play by play so she would know when to leave her house to meet me. (or so I thought)

I rush into the restaurant, and it's not just her! Two of my other friends were there too. At first I thought, "That's weird that they are here at the same time." Then, they were like, "This is your birthday party!"

I was surprised!
They came up behind me & put this on my head! LOL

During our laughter and fun, we talked about a childhood friend of my best friend's who passed away on Thanksgiving. She said a Facebook memorial page had been set up and people were posting their memories of him. She wonders though, if they told him how much they cared while he was alive.

God loves us all every much. He needs humans to hug, reach out to, and help other humans for Him. That's why the Bible talks about us being His hands and feet. We have a calling. We need to be going about His business.

So, I'm challenging all of us...

Who do you need to talk to today?

Who do you need to tell just how important they are in your life?

Seriously?

Do not wait until it's too late. People need to know they are loved. They need to know how awesome you think they are. Especially right now.

Did you know there are more suicides during the holidays than any other time of the year?

Loneliness sucks!

When you don't take the time to tell people how much they mean to you, or spend time with people you care about....they might feel terribly alone.

I hope this will encourage you to reach out to someone. You don't have to have them a surprise party, but I bet if you did, they would feel awesome!

I know I am important to several people and that makes me feel really good.

Who will you talk to today?
My awesome cake!

  1. Been trying to get a former student of mine who is battling addiction, to come to church. She's says she will but never comes.

    1. Keep inviting her Mike! Maybe she will for a Christmas service. And by all means, keep praying for her! She needs it!
