HOPE

The messages this month at my church have been amazing and are about hope.
Our Youth Pastor spoke yesterday and I just have to share a couple of his points.

This is the time of year that we all need hope. We normally define hope as "wishful thinking". The Biblical definition is "a confident expectation."

We need to be confident that God will do what He says He will do.
We also need to help others believe this!

Proverbs 13: 12 says,
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."

We can actually get sick if we don't have hope.

Josh said, "God loves to invade hopeless situations."

God gets blamed for all the junk that happens for some reason.
But God has two things he wanted us to know.

1. "If it's not good, it's not God." James 1: 16-17 says that every good and perfect gift is from above, from the Father of heavenly lights.

2. "If it's not good, God's not done." Romans 8:28 tells us that God turns all things for good to those who love Him.

I asked God for a Scripture this morning, and this one jumped out at me from Job, of all places... LOL

Job 37: 5 says,"God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding."

I believe that with my whole heart!

What in your life needs a refueling of hope?

Who in your life needs the same thing?

See, you can give hope yourself! It's not hard to do.

Do not defer hope to yourself or anyone else. That will make them sick.

Give hope all year around. People need it!

American Idol singer, Danny Gokey is now on a Christian label and has his second CD out. His newest song is Hope In Front of Me... I wanted to share the video. It's a great song!

  1. Thanks for sharing. I've been discouraged about a fundraising event for foster youth that I was "hoping" would do better. God's bigger than me and I needed to hear "If it's not good, God's not done." Praying He "does things beyond our understanding" in this.
