God Is NOT mad at you!

Over the last few weeks, I have heard this a few times. "God is not mad at you."

Thursday night, at our ladies' Bible study, Debra, the teacher that night, said something I had never thought about.

In Genesis chapter 3, verses 8-13 we see where God was coming to hang out with Adam and Eve. He came in the cool of the day. This was just after they had eaten of the tree that they were not supposed to.

God knows all. He knew what they had done. But He searched and asked where they were anyway.

HE WAS NOT MAD AT THEM!

God gave us free will. If He had not, we would be robots, just programmed to love Him. However, that is not what He wanted/ wants.

Adam and Eve's sin caused God to remove them from the garden, but not from His love and fellowship.

Nothing we can do will make God love us any more, and nothing we can do will make God love us any less.

I know the Old Testament God is hard to understand. A lot of bad things happened in the OT that seems like He was angry or actually, there are times when He did get angry.

The best thing for us, in 2014 to do is, look at the New Testament and read about Jesus. Jesus is how God is. He is loving, kind, compassionate, slow to anger, etc.

Psalm 145: 8 says, "The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love."

That's the God I love. He is the God who loves us all!
