How To Have a Cheerful Heart

Our hearts are very important. We have two, ya know. One that pumps our blood and keeps us alive, and the other that is the deep well of our being. Your heart is the core of YOU.

When someone breaks our emotional heart, it can be so hard to build it back up. The emotional heart is just vital to our being. It can take years to build back after it's broken. It is possible to guard your heart. We are actually advised to that. But, while guarding, it's a good idea to keep that heart cheerful. You CAN have a cheerful heart. I promise.

Cheerful in the dictionary is described as "in good spirits", "ungrudging", "pleasant" or "bright".

Things can be bad all around us, but we can still have a cheerful heart.

Proverbs 15: 15 says, "All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast."

Another words, you will have bad days. You will be oppressed and feel pressure sometimes, but keep your heart cheerful and know that it will not last forever. You can make it through any bad thing with a cheerful heart. Remember the good times.

One of my friends' mom just passed away. He is a great family man. His wife is awesome, they have four kids. I know his heart is hurting today. But I know him well enough to know that he has a cheerful heart. He is preaching his mom's funeral today. And you never know, he might even bust out a rap... because he is just awesome like that. I know he is remembering the good times. I know he is going to continue to raise his children to know their Nana loved them. That's how you have a cheerful heart in the mist of sorrow and grief.

Proverbs 17: 22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

During the bad times, do not let your spirit be crushed. It will dry you up! Stay cheerful in your heart. Find the good in every day! There really is something good, look for it!

God loves you. He is not causing the bad to happen to you.

Count your blessings. They are there. Let your heart be cheerful!
