God Doesn't Want to Hurt You!

Today, during my Proverbs reading, two verses jumped out at me.

Proverbs 10: 12 says, "Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrong."

AND

Proverbs 10: 22 says, "The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and He adds not trouble to it."

God IS love, therefore, in verse 12, GOD covers over all wrong.

 So why do bad things happen, you ask?

We live in a fallen sinful world. God did not make us human robots to follow His orders and commands. He gave us free will. Sin entered the world through that free will, and choices were made that could not be undone.

Our enemy is on this earth. He was an angel in heaven but wanted to be God, so he got sent away.

God DOES NOT make bad things happen to people.

Verse 22 says that God adds no trouble to things. He blesses people. 

My Pastor also says that God can not give us something He doesn't already have.

God does not have cancer.

God does not kill people.

God does not pour out His wrath on people.

He LOVES us, with a Fatherly steadfast love that is never ending. 

Don't believe me? Search through the New Testament and tell me one time that Jesus harmed someone. 

Look at God through a Jesus lens. See what He did in the New Testament and that's how God is to us.
