Yesterday at church, our Pastor was out of town, so our Youth Pastor gave the message. I always enjoy hearing from him. Everyone on our church staff that has had times of teaching is very enjoyable.
Josh's message was on "Having a God given dream & purpose for your life."
He said "People are running wild because they don't have the energy to focus on the good. The problem isn't sin- sin is the symptom- the root is a lack of purpose."
God has a plan and purpose for your life. He gave you talents and abilities that aren't like anyone else. Are you living your dream?
Josh said there are 7 places in culture that we can use our talents and gifts.
1. Education
2. Arts & Entertainment
3. Government
4. Family
5. Religion
6. Business
7. Media
Psalm 37: 4 says, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"
So what makes you mad, sad, or glad? Which one of these 7 areas of culture appeal to you?
Here is how you discover your dream and fulfill it!
1. Pursue God & pay attention to your heart.
2. Do something about it after you've discovered it!
3.Press through discouragement and NEVER tell someone "Don't get your hopes up."
4. Have Courage- never underestimate what God can do with a person & their dreams.
