Why Jesus Is The Way!

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

My Pastor started a new message series that I am SUPER excited about.

It's called "Why Would God".

This past week's message was about why Jesus is the only way to Heaven. You can listen to it here: WHY WOULD GOD

People tend to get upset when Christians say that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. I think it's because we sound arrogant saying it. We sound like the brat kid on the play ground, "Ha, ha, my way is better than your's." (As we stick our finger in their faces.)

Here's the thing. Other religions aren't necessarily horrible. They teach peace, love, and happiness. However, they are not the only way to true salvation.

Other religions have a list of rules and are based on DO.

Christianity is based on DONE.

As a Christian, we can not do anything to get us to Heaven. Jesus paid the price for us. He died, was buried, and rose again on the third day. That's what salvation is all about. He defeated death. No other religion can say that.

One thing Josh pointed out that I found VERY interesting is that other religions are based on a person's teachings. The Mormons are all about Joseph Smith, The Muslims are all about Muhammad and The Jehovah Witness' are all about Charles Taze Russell.

Christianity is about a historical event. Jesus' death was so powerful that it split time into B.C. and A.D. Not to mention, that His death, burial and resurrection can be proven.

Lee Strobel was an atheist writer/ editor who wanted to prove that Jesus wasn't real, but got saved doing it.

Cold case investigative reporter, J. Warner Wallace took this case of Christ to research it and prove that Jesus wasn't real, yet, he too, became a Christian in the process.

One other really cool thing about Christianity is that we have NO room to brag! Nothing we've done gets us to Heaven. It's all about what God did. These other religions, they feel like they have to work for their salvation. They go on mission trips, come knocking on our doors, and trying to give us their books because they are earning their salvation.

Oh, if they only knew the Jesus I know! You can't earn your salvation. It's a gift.

If you don't know Him as your Lord and Savior, will you take a minute today and pray for that? Ask God to reveal Himself to you. Ask Him to show you the way because, He loves you and wants to spend the rest of your life with you.
