Neighbor's Table

Sarah was working and found her identity in her work. God wanted her to "rest in her identity". She figured out that she is a "people gatherer". Dinner parties were fun and easy for her. She was good at it. Little did she know that God had a plan for her dinner party gift!

She had a vision to make a table and invite her neighbor's over. She coined it "Neighbor's Table". Her dad built and still builds these tables. She had 92 people come to her first event.

Here is the link to her talk: Sarah Harmeyer - Neighbor's Table

A while back I talked about how everyone is your neighbor. Jesus tells us to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength... AND love our neighbor as ourselves.

Sarah took that one step further and wanted to get to know her neighbors. She wanted to form a community, not just people living in houses next door to each other.

The way to get to know someone is to spend time with them.

By having regular dinner parties and inviting her neighbors over, she's formed something that most neighborhood's don't have.

Her vision has become a mission. A love mission. She wants to help people love their neighbors!

You can purchase one of these beautiful tables and do this same thing in your own neighborhood. She will deliver anywhere! Her plan is to have a Neighbor's Table in all 50 states!

I think this is an amazing thing. It is something that I never would have thought of. I love how God gives us all certain gifts, talents, and abilities. Because watching how He works them out in different ways is so cool.

You can find Sarah at http://neighborstable.com/ and on Facebook at Neighbor's Table Facebook Page

These tables are gorgeous! I wish I was in the position to get one, because I would!

When Jon Acuff spoke at Launch Out, he gave a shot out to Sarah's mission.. he said, "Neighbor's Table is better than the "cool" table." Remember the "cool table" at school? Where all the popular kids sat?

Neighbor's table levels the field. Everyone is cool and welcome!
