Adoption

I felt a tug on my heart to adopt years ago. I asked my now ex husband and he said no. So, I just let it go. Looking back, I see that I should have continued praying because it had not left my heart... but since he left, I guess it's good that another child didn't have her dad leave.

Sunday, I volunteered at my work packing Operation Christmas Child boxes. We watched a video. The video was about a man who received a box in an orphanage as a child. It was awesome, but what stood out to me was that he had been adopted out of that orphanage. I cried. I still want to adopt a little girl. I want to take her love on her and teach her about God.
This is the man from the video:
"My name is Alex Nsengimana. I received and Operation Christmas Child shoebox when I was 7-years-old living in an orphanage in Rwanda. Today I'm taking over Operation Christmas Child's Instagram to tell you the impact of a shoebox gift!" -Alex
The Bible says in Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lordand he will give you the desires of your heart."

Since this desire hasn't left my heart.. then maybe one day He will give it to me. I feel like He will honor wanting to adopt because in all actuality, He has adopted us.

A few years ago, some friends of mine, over a three year time period, adopted three beautiful daughters. I was a notary at the time and had the honor of notarizing every single paper that brought them home. This family already had three birth children. Now, they've given hope and love to three more. They are just the sweetest. I love this family so much.

First Day of School 2014
Here is what the Bible says about us being adopted by God: Romans 8:15 says, "15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father.”

God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us so much. I don't think people realize just how much sometimes.

Alex experienced God's love through this Christmas gift and when his mom adopted him. These three beauties were taken from an orphanage too, and are now a part of a forever family.

God does the same for us! He sent His Son to adopt you. Have you let Him do that??
If not, go ahead... tell Him that you want to be a part of this amazing family.
We welcome you with open arms!
