BEFORE

I have an "unofficial" adopted daughter. I call her that because I did not meet her until she was 17 years old. (And I have not filled out any paperwork to make her mine.) We took her in for a few months, helped her get her GED, then got her paper work ready for college. I just love her like one of my own.

She is now 20 years old, engaged and expecting. I am really excited about the baby! (Yes, I will be a young Grandma, but that is totally cool.)

The other day she was shopping for maternity clothes. She looks younger than 20, brown hair, beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest dimples you've ever seen. She is around 25 weeks but barely looks pregnant.

A lady in the store was really mean to her. The lady thought she was 16 and pregnant and said of course she wasn't married because she was too young. She over heard my daughter say that the baby was a blessing from God. This lady had the nerve to say,"Jesus has nothing to do with babies born out of wedlock."

WHAT??!!!!

Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:12 to do unto others as we would have them do to us. In other words, treat people the way you want to be treated.

In my opinion, it is better to live by treating people the way you want to be treated. That lady's mean words had my daughter crying. Is this exactly how she planned her life to turn out? Well, no. But she loves her fiance', he loves her, they love their baby girl, and Jesus.

Romans 8:28 saysAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brothers and sisters."

God's plans for this baby are fixed. God is turning all things around for my daughter's good. Because she loves Him and He promised to do so.
How dare someone say any different!

I fully believe that God allows babies to be conceived. He has a plan and a purpose for each one. Therefore, her comment about Jesus having nothing to do with babies born out of wedlock is crazy talk!

They ARE getting married, even though that's none of this woman's business. They have been dating for almost 2 years and are very much in love.

We are not called to judge. People do not need us to tell them when/if they are doing something wrong. Especially if we do not even know the entire situation!

BEFORE you hurt someone with your words... think first.
