Another part of my Pastor's message on Sunday had to do with the mountains in our lives. Somehow we have it ALL wrong!
In Hebrew culture, "mountain" means anything that sets itself between you and God.
These mountains keep us from face to face intimacy with Jesus. We take the mountain as our own.
When we try to move the mountain, we end up doing one of these three things: 1. Quit and walk away, 2. We deny there is a mountain, 3. We become exhausted.
In our own strength, we can not move anything.
God and grace are what move mountains. In Zachariah 4: 6 & 7 it says this,
"Therefore he told me, “These signify the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength and not by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord who rules over all.” 7 “What are you, you great mountain? Because of Zerubbabel you will become a level plain! And he will bring forth the temple capstone with shoutings of ‘Grace! Grace!’ because of this.”
Realize, this is old testament Scripture. God was even moving mountains back then by shouting "Grace! Grace!" to it to make it move. It is not our strength or our power that will do this..but God and His Spirit.
Jesus wants to be responsible to move the mountains in our lives.
When we have problems, my Pastor always says to put on the garment of Praise. Here is a song for you. Our Savior moves mountains and He is mighty to save!

Another song about my God is a mountain mover! One of my favorites.
