Is Your Heart Cheerful?

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength." Proverbs 17:22

Someone I dearly love is going through a very difficult time. It's a time where having a cheerful heart is just hard to do some days.
This Presidential election has caused some people to be distraught and upset over the outcome. They are protesting, writing mean things on social media, and saying mean things to people who have darker colored skin than their's.
The other day, famous world known photographer, Jeremy Cowart posted a picture of himself with a sad face drawn on the palm of his hand. It was World Adoption Day. It was supposed to be a smiling face. He has an adopted daughter from Haiti. Some white girls at school where mean to her because of the color of her skin. Jeremy is white. Love doesn't see color. Hate and mistreating someone is wrong. Especially because of the color of their skin.
I would like to point out something, as oblivious as it is. People do not ask to be born into a specific race. (Or born at all for that matter.) We are born into the race, gender, and family that God designs for us.
We need to stop being mean to people because of the color of their skin!
This all boils down to a heart issue. WHY aren't you cheerful?
Because you didn't get your way? Because you are afraid out of your mind? Because you aren't sure that God's promises will come to pass?
Grow through this. We all need to. There are lessons to be learned here.
A broken spirit saps your strength. And when you don't have strength, guess what happens?
The enemy attacks!
He sees a weak spot and gets in.
Therefore you end up down, mean, and saying junk you shouldn't be because he's using you to hurt someone else.
PLEASE turn your problems over to God.
I don't know what the future holds. But I know who holds our future.
No matter what, God is still in charge of this universe He created!
He still loves EVERYONE, and He still has a plan for us too!
Lift your spirit today! Get in God's Word, and read some things that will encourage you.
Remember the hard time Job went through? God turned it around for his good
Having a cheerful heart can be hard during hard times. I know that.
So... count your blessings! (name them one by one)
What's going on in your life right now that is GOOD?
Tell me! I'd love to hear some good positive stuff today! It would cheer my heart up too.
God bless you today and always!
