Renewing Your Mind
Romans 12: 2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will."
We have grown up with a bunch of lies. We hear stuff from people, the media and our own thoughts.
It's time we figure out the truth and stop listening to these lies!
Beth Moore had this saying in one of her Bible studies, and our Wednesday night Bible teacher, Mrs. Laurel told us about it a couple of weeks ago:
1. God is who He says He is.
2. God does what He says He will do.
3. I am who God says I am.
4. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
5. God's word is alive & active, sharper than any two edge sword.
God is amazing! He loves us unconditionally. Nothing you can do will make Him love you any more... just as nothing you can do will make Him love you any less.
We are God's masterpiece, created for good things. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. God has a plan for our lives, a plan to prosper us, not harm us.
Stop listening to the lies that you aren't good enough, that your life doesn't matter, and that nothing good will ever happen to you. That's total junk!
Think on the good things I have written above. Read them out loud to yourself. Find other Scriptures that help you and say them out loud. That's how you renew your mind. You kick out the junk and replace it with truth.
The second paragraph in my Jesus Calling devotional today says this:
"To "wear Me" is essentially to have My mind; to think My thoughts. Ask the Holy Spirit to control your thinking; be transformed by this renewal within you. Thus you are well-equipped to face whatever people and situations I bring your way. Clothing your mind in Me is your best preparation for each day. This discipline brings joy and peace to you and those around you."
Why don't you take some time every day to renew your mind? I think you will be glad you did!
