Another Church Sign Rant

Here I go again.... If you get offended, sorry.

The church sign down the road says,

"It does not cost to be a Christian, it pays."

I respectfully disagree with this statement.

It DOES cost!
Luke 9:23 says, "Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."

When we decide to follow Jesus, we automatically gain an enemy. He will do whatever he can to keep us from praying, reading our Bibles, going to church, hanging out with other believers, and worshiping God. He can't have your soul, but he can do his darnest to keep you from the Heavenly Father that loves you dearly.

Some new Christians lose friends. Maybe they were involved in things that were harmful to them, so they decide that following Jesus is better and they must get away from that

Are there benefits to being a Christian? ABSOLUTELY!

One of those things is when you go through hard times, and struggles, He is ALWAYS there! (Can I get an amen and thanks be to God for that?)

I wish churches would think before they put stuff up like this. They need to speak the truth and not try to lead folks astray. Being a Christian is awesome! But it does cost.

At this church does not want to hurt people.
