Faith

Someone close to me said this the other day,
"Faith makes things possible... not easy."

That really is true, isn't it?

Let's take a minute to define faith...

Dictionary.com says it is "Confidence or trust in a person or thing." "Belief that is not based on proof." "Belief in God or in the doctrines and teachings of religion."

Just one small passage in the Bible says this about faith:
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." ~Hebrews 11:1

To me, this shows that faith is when we have hope and assurance but we can't see. Hebrews is the "Faith" chapter. Many people who did things by faith are recorded in that book.

There are too many Scriptures to list where Jesus refers to someone's faith. There are many that He healed based on their faith, their belief alone,
that He could.

Having the faith to believe in God and what He can and will do for and through your life is important. That faith can move mountains, heal people, and many other miracles. God is still in the miracle business. He hasn't quit. We have.

As modern Christians, I believe we've allowed our faith to take a back seat to life. We think that the God of the Bible isn't the God of today. Oh how very wrong that is! He is still doing the same things He was doing plus some, during Bible times. Jesus even told people that they would do EVEN MORE than He did when He was here.

John 14: 12 says, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

It takes FAITH to believe we can do greater things than Jesus did!

Life isn't easy. We talked about that the other day. But with faith, it makes it possible to get through the day. Don't you agree?
